if anyone has not heard, there is an application for the iphone called Vision Hunt, which detects colors, light, and currency. I have used this app and it works very well. It costs $20 on the app store, and while it is pricy, it does work very well. So for those looking for a much cheaper money identifier than the ones you have to order for several hundred dollars, there's your iPhone app.

And lookTel Money Reader is $2 or thereabouts. The only thing I can see Vision Hunt does that isn't available elsewhere for a couple bucks or for free is the light detection.
I wanta see someone really go to work on OCR, using the video and pronpts to get you to align the camera. I spent $10 on Prizmo and it has yet to yield any result at all, even on documents where Shape Services' Smart Scanner gives back text.
Object recognition has been great on the iPod but OCR is sadly lacking on so many levels IMHO.
you have looktell light detector and several color identifiers that even ifyou bought them would cost you less than that app, probably about 8 dollars for all of them combined.
yep i agree, it's pricey when you consider yo ucan get all three things either free or at the most 1.99. most of them are free, and work great.
Yep, I agree. Looktel is $1.99, light detector is .99 and there are lots of other color apps etc for a buck or 2. Why pay $20 just to have it in one ap? Glad it works though.
this app is now only 1.99. has been for some time now. lol I sooo would be pissed if i paid 20.00 for it though! hehehe
